NOVEMBER 30TH, 2013
I think I was around 5 or 6 years old when my parents decided that it was time for me to start my diving career. I was already a good swimmer and the sport looked like loads of fun. The first couple of weeks were incredible. It was so much fun. All we did is dive off of 1 meter springboards or the edge of the pool deck. I couldn’t wait to get to practice and hang out with 5 or 6 friends in the same age group.
That was until about 3 weeks into the season, when one of the coaches asked, “Hey guys, you want to go and check out the view from the 10 meter platform”. All of us screamed “YES” in excitement.
As we got to the top of the platform and looked down we got scared. For little kids it was like looking from the edge of the cliff into oblivion. Even to this day I remember my heart rate jumping way up. No doubt about it, I was terrified. After admiring the view for a few minutes we turned around to make our way down the stairs. However, our coach was blocking the way.
“You are not walking down, you have to jump”, he said. I think all of us turned pale white as soon as he said that. I know I did. There were two girls in the group and they immediately started crying and begging the coach to let them walk down.
He yelled out, “Listen you little shits, you either jump on your own or I will throw you down, let’s go, now”. (BTW, that’s normal in the Soviet Union School of Sports).
At that point the rest of the group started to cry and whimper. We were all terrified. I started to cry as my heart was beating out of my chest.
“Enough crying you weaklings” he said as his assistant and him started to push us towards the end of the platform. Once there they proceeded to pick us up one by one and throw us down. I was one of the last ones to go. I remember thinking that was the end of my life. As they picked me up and dropped me, my heart stopped. The fall itself seemed never ending, that is until I have managed to streamline and hit the water like a nail.
A few seconds later I opened my eyes under water, I was still alive. The feelings of relief and exhilaration swept over my body. I was beyond excited. I loved it. I wanted to do it again. All of us did. So much so that our coach probably regretted throwing us off.
Point being, people are most often terrified of the most exciting things. Those scary things drive us forward the most. The fear is, of course, real. We are scared to take risks in many aspects of our lives. Business, relationships, family, education, career, etc…. Yet, we shouldn’t be. Once we put fear aside and try something for the first time, we might find that we actually enjoy it. Maybe even love it.
So, put your fears aside and go do that most terrifying thing. It might just change your life.
This advice stems from starting and working on both InvestWithAlex.com and LastSpartan.com over the last few months. While I was never afraid to start these entities, I did always put them on the back burner under the pretence of being too busy. In the past I have never enjoyed talking about myself too much. I just didn’t care nor did I want to be seen as one of those “Self Absorbed or Narcissistic” people.
Yet, surprisingly I have found that I really like moving these two projects forward. They allow me to express myself in a way that I haven’t done before while building a loyal following. After all, that is what this century is all about.
I am a firm believer that moving forward and in order to be successful, one has to build a brand for themselves. Whatever your occupation is you must find a way to differentiate yourself from the other 7 Billion fools on this earth. If you don’t, the chances of you being able to earn much more than an average slave in your industry are slim to none.
In other words, you must find a way to build a name and/or brand for yourself.
That is what InvestWithAlex.com and LastSpartan.com are helping me accomplish. InvestWithAlex.com is the first step in rebuilding my hedge fund. It will allow me to re-establish industry contacts and build a loyal following of potential investors. It will be the primary tool that would allow me display my analytical work and attract the interest of larger players. All of these steps will eventually allow me to raise a billion dollar fund over the next 5-10 years.
While InvestWithAlex.com in my love, LastSpartan.com is my passion. It is a movement that will eventually grow into a worldwide organization. I firmly believe that by teaching people what I know, I can transform their lives for the better and make them more successful. By publishing a number of books and courses over the next 12 months, I believe this movement will only gain speed going forward.
Why am I talking about this? I believe you must have an exact plan of what you are trying to accomplish. For example, your time cannot be wasted talking about Chocolate Ice Cream Vs Vanilla Ice Cream and what tastes better. No one cares and there are already a million people doing that. You must find your passion or a market that no one is really contending and then go after it with everything you have. That is the only way.
So far we have learned three lessons.
- Try something terrifying. It will change your life.
- Start and build a brand and/or name for yourself.
- Have an exact plan of what you are trying to do.
Now, let’s take a look at my performance, what we have been able to accomplish in November and our plan for December.
Revenue or Income Generated:
ZERO. As I have discussed in my October update I do not anticipate to make money in either November nor December from either LastSpartan.com or InvestWithAlex.com. I did generate income from my investments, but that is outside the scope of our discussion. As I have mentioned before, I am using this time to build the foundation of what is to come in 2014 and to build all the necessary systems.
Plan for December of 2013:
If you follow both of my projects you will see a substantial drop in postings in December of this year. The majority of posts are likely to be re-posts from the last couple of months. I will post some updates and Timed Value articles on InvestWithAlex.com, but the rest of the posts are likely to be re-posts.
That is due to my push to complete three significant projects before the start of fiscal 2014. Please see further explanation below.
Plan for the first quarter of 2014:
As I have mentioned earlier, I am pushing for monetization of my work as soon as possible. In fact, I am pushing incredibly hard to complete 3 Independent Products by the end of the year. I want to make all of them available for sale on January 1st, 2014. Here is what I am working on.
1. InvestWithAlex.com: I will introduce a premium monthly newsletter for investors that will include advanced market trading strategies as well as exact timing windows. Subscribers will pay $99/Month.
2. LastSpartan.com: I will complete and publish a book on Amazon.com. I believe the book will be life changing and transformational for many people. I haven’t set the price, but a price of $4.99-9.99 is highly probable.
3. LastSpartan.com: I will complete the course associated with the book above. The course will either sell for $299 or $499. It is designed to be highly exclusive and life changing.
Once the products above are complete both projects should be ready for monetization.
Schedule: I am realizing that publishing for both blogs on daily basis is too draining for me. Not only physically, but quality wise as well. The more I publish the lower the quality. That is why I have made a conscious decision to adjust my schedule to publishing 3-4 new articles per week per project starting in January of 2014. I expect the quality of the content as well as its perceived value to go up. Plus it will give me more time to concentrate on sales and markets.
Controversial Content: As I continue to publish content, I keep learning something new every day. I am starting to learn that controversial and unique content perform the best. As such, my content will become a lot more edgy and offensive in the early 2014. I typically have a “I don’t give a F&#*” attitude and you will certainly see that side of me more often going forward.
System Setups & Know How:
I did not setup any systems in November, but I will setup quite a few in December. I will definitely keep you updated on the “Know How”.
I did hire an associate to work with me on promoting both projects. So far he has been doing an excellent job and I am sure his assistance will be of great value going forward.
In summary, November has been incredibly productive month from a number of vantage points. While I did not make any money from either project, I have made significant progress on multiple fronts. The daily traffic is constantly growing and I am also getting more followers. Further, I have created at least 100 pages of publishable content that will shortly be monetized.
Plus, I have made significant progress in setting up the rest of the systems and completing 3 products mentioned above. Overall, I am excited to complete everything by December 31st and to start the monetization process by January 1st.
With that said, I would like to thank my loyal readers for following me on this journey. Your support and appreciation means the world to me. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.
Did you enjoy this post? If so, please share our blog with your friends as we try to get traction. Gratitude!!
